Black salt, raw -- fine
Kala namak or sanchal is commonly known as black salt. It's an unrefined mineral salt that is actually pinkish grey and has a strong sulphuric flavour. Chaat masala, an Indian spice blend, is dependent upon black salt for its characteristic aroma and flavour.
We love black salt because of its high sulphur content and the distinctive eggy smell and taste. Try sprinkling some onto an avocado half and see how much it feels like you're eating a boiled egg!
