Goji berries, organic, raw, vegan
We love gojis!!!!
IMPORTANT NOTICE : Detox Your World
is advising its customers to stock up on goji berries before the
anticipated ban by our government. We, alongside other health food organisations
have submitted substantial information
to the FSA in the hope that they will not ban this lovely berry from our
shores. We now just have to wait and see what the decision is -- we don't
know how long this will take or whether the ban will be immediate once
announced. We are doing all we can to ensure your right to buy harmless
and healthy goji berries beyond this point.
Important announcements from Shazzie
Is it really organic?
"Recently, there has been an influx of inferior
superfoods into the UK. When buying superfoods on the Internet or in shops,
ensure you are buying organically certified (if it says organic, it should
be accompanied by the details of the certifying body (OF&G or Soil
Association, for example). If it doesn't say who's certified it, ask the
seller for their certificate. For your protection, it's illegal to sell
uncertified products as organic."
Price matching
"If you find certified organic superfoods of a similar
quality to ours at a cheaper price, we will attempt to price match this
item. Please ring Denise or Angel on 08700 113 119 for a price match."
With love
Organically certified goji berries are a food supplement -- an extremely
nutrient-dense fruit. They contain 18 amino acids (six times higher than bee
pollen) including all 8 essential amino acids. They contain 11.7% protein,
and 328 calories per 100g!
The Goji berry is a deep-red, dried fruit about the same size as a raisin.
It's very sweet and tastes something like a cross between a cranberry
and a cherry. We love adding them to smoothies, trail-mix, cereals, teas
and cakes. Err... we also just eat them by the handful!
Nutritional Information
Goji berries contain up to 21 trace minerals (the main ones being zinc,
iron, copper, calcium, germanium, selenium, and phosphorus) and are the
richest source of carotenoids, including beta-carotene (more beta carotene
than carrots), of all known foods or plants on earth!
Goji berries also contain vitamins B1, B2, B6, and vitamin E.
Mature fruits contain about 11 mg or iron per 100 grams, beta-sisterol
(an anti-inflammatory agent), linoleic acid (a fatty acid), sesquiterpenoids
(cyperone, solavetivone), tetraterpenoids (zeaxanthin, physalin), and
betaine (0.1%).
Goji berries contain polysaccharides which fortify the immune system.
A polysaccharide found in this fruit has been found to be a powerful secretagogue
(a substance that stimulates the secretion of rejuvenative human growth
hormone by the pituitary gland).
Benefits
Goji berries have been traditionally regarded as a longevity, strength-building,
and sexual potency food of the highest order. In several study groups
with elderly people the berry was given once a day for 3 weeks, many beneficial
results were experienced and 67% of the patients T cell transformation
functions tripled and the activity of the patients white cell interleukin-2
doubled. In addition, the results showed that all the patients spirit
and optimism increased significantly, appetite improved in 95% of the
patients, 95% of the patients slept better, and 35% of the patients partially
recovered their sexual function.
The famed Li Qing Yuen, who apparently lived to the age of 252 years
(1678-1930), consumed Goji berries daily. The life of Li Qing Yuen is
the most well-documented case of extreme longevity known.
Production
The plants grow like bushes with vines that reach over 15 feet. The berries
are never touched by hand as they will oxidize and turn black if touched while
fresh. They are shaken onto mats, and then dried in the shade. These berries
are grown according to strict organic standards in one of the purest places
on earth.
Dosage
The therapeutic dosage is 10-30 grams per day, though we just eat them
because we love them!

The goji berry baby

This is Evie, aged 2 and a little bit. She's eaten goji berries nearly every day since she started eating food (and when she was in her mummy's tummy). She's a raw organic vegan unvaxed breastfed child. She's never ever been to the doctors with an "illness". Here, she's eating raw chocolate cereal that her mummy, Shazzie, made her, which is topped with coconut milk and yummy goji berries.
What you say
"Hi, I have just been reading some more about the magic of Goji berries. I am nearly 70 and suffer very badly from arthritis. I have one replacement hip and am waiting for another...I have very severe arthritis in my feet and shoulders. I have got Fibromyalgia and all the other associated aches and pains that go along with it. I have been including Goji berries in my diet for the past three weeks and I have never felt better in my life. The main benefits to me are the anti-inflamitory properties but I must also
mention the feeling of well being and the fact th at my skin is begining to look 10 years younger. I can only atribute this to the only change in my diet...Goji Berries, plus the Manuka honey which I have been using for the past couple of years...thank you so much...(not so achy pensioner.)"
