Floral Face Toner
Raw Gaia's face toner is an uplifting and refreshing hydrosol spray, made
with high-grade floral waters and essential oils. Its unique blend of ingredients
helps to tonify, balance and revitalise all types of skin.
Floral waters are the by-product of the steam distillation of essential oils.
Because of their gentle therapeutic effects, floral waters are considered the
homeopathic version of aromatherapy.
The floral face toner is made with 100% organic:
- Rose Otto floral water: a humectant skin tonic, that helps to add
and retain moisture. It has very mild antiseptic and astringent qualities.
It stimulates blood flow in the minute vessels under the skin. It is also
of benefit for scars, minor infections, sunburn and ageing skin.
- Neroli floral water: A wonderful treatment for delicate, sensitive
skin as well as for oily skin, due to its astringent properties. It has natural
calming qualities too.
- Palmarosa essential oil: Useful in the treatment of weeping eczema,
wrinkles as well as for nervous exhaustion and stress-related symptoms.
- Rose geranium essential oil: Good for all skin types thanks to its
balancing effect. It helps to maintain the skin supple and to enliven the
skin complexion.
- Melissa essential oil: An uplifting essential oil, that strengthens
and revitalizes while soothing and calming. Suitable for all skin types.
- Roman Chamomile essential oil: Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and
analgesic properties, this is one of the best essential oils for eczema, sunburns,
dry or irritated skin.
- Helichrysum essential oil: It has strong anti-inflammatory effects.
Useful for irritated skin, eczema and acne.

How it all started
For many years, we searched for a really good moisturizer, that would be made
with ingredients as fresh and as close to nature as possible and that would
be free from any chemical or toxic ingredients.
Unable to find anything suitable, we started experimenting in the kitchen and
making our own creams. Eventually we came up with what we believe is one of
the purest range of skin care products available.
What distinguishes Raw Gaia is that we use only 100% organic, raw and vegan
ingredients such as raw cocoa (cacao) butter, cold pressed oils and essential
oils. Importantly, our products are made following a process that avoids temperatures
beyond 40°C. In this way, the life force of the ingredients and all their
antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, etc., are retained. All these nutrients are
then available to nourish your skin, without leaving any surface residues.
The importance of raw
Simply put, the main benefit of a raw, living skin care product is that your
body nourishes from the existing life force of the ingredients. In contrast,
subjecting to high temperatures destroy most of this living energy.
Raw ingredients provide additional benefits to the skin through their:
Antioxidants: Antioxidants help to keep the skin supple and beautiful
by neutralizing free radicals. Free radical exposure eventually leads to hidden
inflammation and eventually, wrinkles and ageing skin.
Minerals: These occur naturally in our bodies and are found in our most
common foods. Sulphur for example is essential to make the skin soft and elastic
since it is an essential component of all connective tissues.
Vitamins: They are beneficial to damaged and distressed skin. Vitamin
C for example, is especially useful as an anti-wrinkle remedy for under-eyes
skin.
Omega 6 Fatty Acids: Present in oils such as primrose and borage seed
oils, they have been shown to gradually improve eczema and moisturize dry, cracking
and/or scaling skin.
What purity really means
Several leading alternative medicine practitioners and nutritionists suggest
that you should only apply on your skin what you would be willing to eat. The
reason behind this is that it will end up in the body tissues, either way.
Raw Gaia’s creams, lip balms and moisturisers are so pure that you could
in fact, eat them. (We’ve done that ourselves as a test!) We don’t
recommend you do that since they are not very palatable and the stomach may
not be used to it, but our skin care products are certainly safe to eat since
they are only made with raw, vegan and organic ingredients.
Evidently, our products do not contain any nasty petrochemicals, artificial
colourants and parfums, glycols, lauryl sulphates, parabens, preservatives,
synthetic additives, bulking agents or hidden ingredients. Because we avoid
any heat treatment, the oils in our products also do not contain any toxic transfatty
acids.
Raw Gaia's products are certified vegan by The Vegan Society. Our products
have not been tested on animals. In addition, we have carefully screened our
suppliers to ensure they do not carry out tests on animals either.
