Carob and Almond Smoothie
Carob powder is a delicious organic extract made from carob pods, which grow on the Mediterranean carob tree and have been used as both a valuable source of food and natural sweetener for more than five thousand years. Brimming with wholesome ingredients including vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3 and D), minerals (calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, manganese and potassium), antioxidants, fibre and protein, carob powder also boasts an intense chocolate-like flavour, yet contains none of the stimulants (such as caffeine and theobromine) found in cocoa powder. Carob powder, once a favourite with the Egyptians, makes a superb substitute for refined sugars or artificial sweeteners in your preferred choice of raw desserts and cakes and is simply ideal stirred directly into a variety of smoothies and shakes
Our exceptionally creamy and incredibly satisfying carob and almond milk smoothie recipe contains potassium-rich banana and makes the perfect caffeine-free alternative to regular chocolate shakes and smoothies and is a guaranteed hit with the kids.
