What are herbal extracts?
Herbal extracts are an excellent way of getting the nutrition and goodness from a herb, without the trouble of sometimes elaborate preparation. They are also a way of getting the goodness in as concentrated a form as possible.
How are herbal extracts made?
The raw herbs are prepared by hot water extraction, the water is then evaporated off until all that is left is the essential oils and active ingredients. These are then bound together in an excipient, small amounts of non-GM corn flour. This is the most pure, beneficial and unadulterated way to enjoy tonic herbal extracts possible.
Purity: this vegan product is free from wheat, gluten, soya, added sugar, salt, test, lactose, preservatives, or any other fillers. Not tested on animals.
Chaga mushroom is food grade and safe to use as you would a culinary herb. It can be added to any foods or drinks. Add half a teaspoon to a healthy juice or smoothie, or prepare it as an instant tonic tea, by simply putting half a teaspoon in a cup or mug, and adding hot water.
As with all herbs, don't exceed one teaspoon of herbal extract a day unless guided to by a qualified healthcare professional.
Shazzie's top tip
"I have been taking chaga for years, but more so recently, to boost my whole being. I have a big pan on the stove at all times, and just add a spoonful of chaga to it, top it up with water and slowly heat it. Before boiling, I lower the heat and let it sit there, which brings the flavour and nutrients into the water even more. I then ladle the resulting tea into a cup and sip it throughout the day."
"If coffee is one of your weaknesses, and you're fed up with its unhealthy side effects, then chaga is your saviour. It looks, smells and tastes like coffee. It can also be used exactly like coffee... just pop some in a cafetiere and pour on hot water as normal. And on top of all that, it's good for you!"
