During the last decade organic goji berries have become an increasingly popular choice in the West – loaded with valuable nutrients, including vitamins (such as vitamins B1, B2, B6, C, and E), minerals (e.g. zinc, iron, copper, calcium, germanium, selenium and phosphorus), carotenoids (beta-carotene and zeaxanthin), polysaccharides and beta-sisterol.
Goji berries have a distinctive flavour that many liken to an blend of cranberry and cherry and are a lovely addition to this refreshing smoothie, that is super quick to make!
- 1 handful of goji berries
- 1 teaspoon of lucuma powder
- 1 teaspoon of maca powder
- 2 cups of strawberries
- 1 banana
- 1 and a half cups of water
Place all the ingredients into your blender and blitz for around 30 seconds or until smooth.
Pour into a glass and top with some remaining goji berries or some freshly sliced strawberries, or both!
