Hazelnut Covered Reishi Chocolates

Makes about 30 chocolates, depending on the moulds you use. Keeps for four weeks when refrigerated in a sealed container. Please find below the ingredients available at Detox Your World -

1 teaspoon reishi extract powder

100g or 1 cup cacao butter

20g or ¼ cup coconut oil

50g or ½ cup lucuma powder

50g or ½ cup cacao powder

30 hazelnuts

2 teaspoons raw honey


Put a small thick-based pan on the lowest heat on your hob. Add the cacao butter and coconut oil and very gently stir continuously. As soon as you can feel some warmth in it with your finger, remove from the heat. Leave to melt on its own from this point, gently stirring occasionally.

Prepare your moulds by popping a hazelnut into each hole.

While the oil and butter are melting, put the lucuma, cacao, honey and reishi  in a mixing bowl and gently blend together.

Once the oil and butter have melted, gradually pour them into the mixing bowl, whisking as you go. Immediately pour into your moulds. The hazelnuts will rise slightly so when the chocolates are set, they won’t be poking out of the top when you turn them out.

Gently tap the moulds for a minute or two to release any air bubbles, then put them into the fridge to set for a couple of hours. 

Tip: I always use silicone moulds for chocolate. The end result is a glossy chocolate that’s easy to remove from the mould.
