Hemp protein powder is a powerful is made from hemp – a plant that belongs to the mulberry family and has been cultivated by the ancient Indians, Mesopotamians, Sumerians, Persians, Egyptians and indigenous tribes of Central America for a variety of uses for thousands of years. Indeed, organic hemp protein powder is loaded with beneficial nutrients, including vitamin E, minerals (such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, iron, manganese, zinc, copper, platinum, phosphorus, sulphur, boron, nickel, germanium, tin, iodine, chromium, silver and lithium), every essential amino acid, omega-3 fatty acids, chlorophyll, and of course a generous quantity of vegetable protein. The hemp used to prepare organic hemp protein powder contains less than one percent THC, the psychoactive ingredient found in much higher quantities in marijuana, and is entirely gluten free, making it particularly suitable for those with a gluten allergy or intolerance. This wonderfully creamy, slightly nutty flavoured superfood powder is also extremely popular with athletes and bodybuilders, vegans, vegetarians and raw food fans.
You can stir organic hemp protein powder liberally into your favourite shakes, smoothies and protein drinks or use it as an additional ingredient in raw chocolate, raw desserts or raw snacks, such as our recipe below.
- 1/4 cup of organic almonds
- 1/4 cup of organic walnut halves
- 1/4 cup of raw whole almond butter
- 1 cup of organic dried dates

Now add in all of the remaining ingredients and blitz until it forms a lovely firm dough. Remove the dough from your blender and press into a suitable cake tin lined with greaseproof paper.
