Ian Tennant – the philanthropic sports and remedial massage therapist with a large heart!
Ian Tennant is a leading sports and remedial massage therapist who turned his back on a successful medical career at the University of Edinburgh in 2005 in order to pursue his passion for eradicating social, health and environmental imbalances.
Since then he’s never looked back – in addition to helping clients towards improved health by teaching them how to reconnect with and appreciate nature (which he insists makes shunning processed foods much easier), Ian also works tirelessly for a number grass-roots charity organisations.
Ian reveals that ‘recognising just how much more energy he has when he eats, sleeps and moves well’, is his continued inspiration for healthy living and his number one advice for anyone else wanting to benefit from improved health and physical fitness is to ‘get plenty of sleep’. He positively recommends ‘trying to get to bed before 10.30 pm’ as he believes that a good night's sleep means that we are far less tempted to reach for junk food and other stimulants throughout the day.
Ian names fragrant and versatile coconut as his favourite superfood and derives personal motivation from a famous quote by theoretical physicist, Albert Einstein: "Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage - to move in the opposite direction." A direction that Ian is apparently intent on following!
