Kelp Noodles Benefits

  • Contains virtually zero carbs, resulting in a low calorie noodle that’s suitable for diabetics or those watching their weight
  • Gluten free and thus ideal for those with a gluten allergy
  • Contains vitamins B1, B2, B11 and C
  • Contains a large variety of other nutrients including chlorophyll, iodine, vanadium, sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium
  • Just one kelp noodle serving contains approx. 35% of your recommended daily calcium intake
  • Contains the polysaccharides known as fucoidans

How To Use Kelp Noodles

Kelp noodles can be enjoyed raw or cooked – they simply require rinsing prior to preparation.

Their neutral flavour makes them perfectly suited to a wide range of tempting meals such as Italian dishes (where they replace pasta), stir fry dishes (where they replace noodles), stews, soups, salads and snacks and can even be mixed into smoothies.

Use 110 grams of kelp noodles per serving.

Kelp Noodles Facts

  • Kelp noodles are extremely low in calories – indeed one portion of kelp noodles contains just six calories and only one gram of carbs
  • As kelp noodles taste more neutral than standard noodles or pasta, they tend to assume the flavour of the dish they are used in
  • Kelp noodles are less sticky and slightly more crunchy than wheat noodles
  • Kelp noodles are much stronger than regular pasta and noodles, so can be cooked for longer without turning sticky
  • The Japanese call kelp ‘Kombu’ and use them in traditional dishes such as soups, stews and sushi or to soften beans while cooking
  • Kelp noodles are made from kelp - a type of seaweed that belongs to the brown algae family and thrives in cool, shallow water.
  • Kelp was routinely used as raw material in the manufacture of washing soda (sodium carbonate) during the 19th century, however, these days it is a highly sought-after nutrient that is commonly available in organic food shops.

I LOVE these kelp noodles! I just made up a raw, vegan alfredo sauce recipe the other day and with these noodles it's PERFECT! These noodles are really low calorie, have no real taste of their own (so they go with anything you want!) and are raw, vegan, and nutritious...what more can you ask for! I buy them every chance I get.
