Dried Apricots Origins

Apricots are a variety of stone fruit that grows on the apricot tree (Prunus armeniaca). This tree originated in Northeast China and was first introduced to Europe by the Romans in 70 BC. Apricots are traditionally grown in Hungary where the Ottomans planted large apricot orchards. Today, however, most fresh apricots come from Turkey, Spain and Italy.
